Our  Story

The Giving Tree Collective is a Toronto-based artist collective focused on cultivating free creativity and inspiring authentic human connection.

Founded in 2020 by creatives Emily Schultz & Jordan Hart, Giving Tree creates performance opportunities for Canada's biggest up-and-coming artists, designing events, live music programs and producing creative projects with special emphasis on community outreach. 

​

Taking its namesake from a song co-written by our founders, Giving Tree made its beginnings in supporting creative endeavours through project production, producing and executing several musical releases and assisting in supporting content. This continues to be a focus for us a team.

Since 2021, Giving Tree has partnered with several incredible experience curators around the Toronto area to build live music series. We are proud to support a variety of clients and connect them with artists specializing in R&B to pop, jazz to folk to soul and so on, each pursuing their own creative journeys and connecting them with a new audiences every week in Toronto's best hotels, lounges and restaurants. Some of our partners include The Park Hyatt Hotel Toronto, 1 Hotel Toronto and Vela Restaurant.

Giving Tree is built upon the idea of connection and philanthropy through art. Since the company's inception, we have teamed up with organizations like L'Arche Canada and the Leukemia & Lymphoma society of Canada and by producing volunteer-led and -performed benefit concerts and creating artistic content that creates awareness towards causes we believe will improve the well-being of people in need in our community. We have raised thousands of dollars and gathered countless physical donations towards multiple causes and have seen and felt the impact on our community, from both sides of receiving and giving.

Our intention at Giving Tree is to provide opportunities for authentic human connection and to bring people together through different creative avenues, while guaranteeing a powerful and passionate level of excellence in which that art is delivered.
